"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." 1 Corinthians 12:4–7

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. “

– 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

God wants to use you.  God gave you gifts that He wants you to put into action.  You might say, “I want to be a camp counselor”, but God might say, “Not this time.  Go help over here where you have no personal skill or experience, so you will have to depend completely on Me to make it work.”

To find out what you are called to do, you need to pray about it. We often pray for a sign from God (the burning bush),  when that sign might be in the form of an announcement asking for help in Jr. High Sunday School or the Parking Ministry.  Why not just get out there and help where you can?  Why not say, “All right, Lord. I’m available. I will do what You want me to do. I’m willing to take a step of faith.”?
