This fall, we are holding a church-wide food drive to fight hunger in Los Angeles County. There are about 10 million people in LA County. One in seven of them are struggling with food insecurity. They are not able to afford nutritious food and may not know where their next meal is coming from. Many of these are children and senior adults.
God calls us to give generously to those in need and to care for those around us (Matt. 25:37-40, 1 Tim. 6:17-18). The food drive is an opportunity for us to be sensitive to the needs of others and respond to God’s call to love others. Our church goal is to donate 4,000 pounds of food to the LA Regional Food Bank to support the hungry. Let’s bless others this holiday season and throughout the year!
