Key elements of the seminar will include:
- Revisiting the doctrine of God in terms of His sovereignty, omniscience, omnipotence and omipresence.
- Considering how the doctrine of divine sovereignty affects the doctrine of humanity and free will.
- Outlining the doctrine of Providence with special reference to conditional and unconditional Providence.
- Weighing the biblical exhortations and options with reference to praying to a sovereign omniscient God.
- Remembering that this God is the God and Father of Jesus Christ, Our Lord, and that God the Spirit works in our hearts to word our petitions when we have no words.
Speaker’s Biography
Dr. Rick Durst has served in a number of roles at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, from full-time professor to academic vice president to director of the Southern California campus and founding director of the online education program. He will be the director of the new Bay Area Campus in Fremont when it opens Fall 2016.
